Dr. Elaine Lam,
Vancouver Endodontist

While Dr. Lam has spent her 10 years of post secondary education and training in New York, Montreal, and Philadelphia, she is a true Vancouver native and calls this great city home. After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University (2001) and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from McGill University (2005), she returned to Vancouver to practice general dentistry. Following her passion, she decided to continue her professional training with a Postdoctoral Degree in Endodontics from Temple University (2008). She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is a licensed Certified Endodontic Specialist (2008). She is also a Board-Eligible Endodontist of the American Board of Endodontics.

Specializing in both non-surgical and surgical endodontic treatment, Dr. Lam continually pursues continuing education as well as teaches as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Dentistry. Along with being selected for a teaching award by UBC students, Dr. Lam also participates in humanitarian work. Her most recent travel was to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania where she worked in the hospital and lectured to both local dentists and students at Muhimbili University. She is very involved in the community and in particular, the British Columbia Society of Endodontics where she was President (2013 – 2015).

Besides her dental pursuits, Dr. Lam is very heavily involved in her alma mater as she is the B.C. Chair of the Cornell University Alumni Ambassador program. This program allows her the opportunity to share her wisdom and enthusiasm with applicants in the admissions process at Cornell University. She recently has initiated a B.C. Cornell Club and is currently taken on a leading role on the Board of Directors. Despite her hectic life, Dr. Lam persists to challenge herself in her career as well as her personal life. Already fluent in English and Cantonese, she has spent the past few years learning Mandarin as well as developing her passion for abstract painting.

Dr. Lam’s gentle and caring nature is appreciated by all her patients. Her ability to handle and comfort even the most apprehensive patient along with her dedication and passion for her work is what allows her to excel in her profession.
